how applicable

Found on my walk today with Abby, taken on my sad little phone.

The weather has been so warm and lovely, we couldn't stay inside staring at screens anymore.
There's something about January that just crushes my soul a little bit
it's cold, and grey, and so sad to look at. I just want to bundle myself up in bed and hibernate till Spring.

February always feels like my forgiving month. It has those little teases of sun and warmth that give me a little hope and push me through till the nicer months arrive. Whenever the sun comes out I feel like I can breathe again, and I'm glad I had an amazing person to spend the afternoon with.

Walks are so wonderful and Abby is so wonderful and spring break in a couple days is so wonderful.

Today was a good day :)

thoughts from the couch.

This place in Olympia, WA makes the best sandwiches ever.
And the best pie, which is basically my favourite thing.

I'm going home for spring break in two weeks and I'm so excited.
It's weird being gone for so long and missing there, but then missing here when I go back.
Why does that happen?

My sleep schedule is totally messed up these days.
I blame Kyle for keeping me up to talk every night... But I love it.
I feel like my life is just turning into this eternal countdown of waiting to see him.

I want to go to Disneyland for my birthday.

I'm seriously just surviving on goldfish crackers right now because I haven't gone grocery shopping in weeks, and when I actually did go I just bought a whole bunch of stuff that does not mix.

Being an adult is hard.

I'm ready for warm weather now.

Everybody needs a bestfriend

... And I was blessed with a pretty great one :)
She is such an example to me, doing the Lord's work in Alabama,
but I miss her terribly.
She was such a sweetheart and, using her limited missionary funds,
sent me a cassette tape! It was the best thing ever to hear her voice
and all the crazy stories she had to share.

She is the cutest.

I'm also very blessed with another bestfriend-turned-roommate that
sat out in her Surburban with me at 11pm in the freezing cold
so I could listen to my tape.

I love them lots.

It's love...

I know I gush about them a lot recently, but I just can't help it!
My roommates are my favourite.
They are the cutest of the cute and I'd be so lost here without them
...Probably starving too, because they all cook for me.
I just thought I should probs introduce them if I'm always talking about them :)

Clockwise:
Abby is the sweetest. She rents puppies with me, tucks me in when I fall asleep on the couch, shares all her leftovers with me, and we laugh. A lot.
I have known Sarah since I was seven years old, and she is still one of my favourite people ever! Our friendship is awesome. We are so silly together and watch WAY too many TV shows.
Paige is my actual room roommate, and she is a saint. She puts up with my horrible mess, and never complains. She's also super hilarious and so fun, but she is getting married next month and we will miss her :(
Kim. Oh Kim. She and I are basically each other's "significant other." She is the best. And puts up with a lot of my crap. And is kind enough to try and wake me up in the morning for school. I just love that snugglebutt so much :)
And Jess! Jess has a wonderful taste in music. And stayed up till 1am with me my first night here to get to know me. She is so nice and considerate to everyone, and always says hello/goodbye, which makes me smile

So there you go! Apartment Number 2, and all my cuties in it :)

Sometimes.

+ Sometimes it's necessary to get a large pizza in the middle of the day
+ Sometimes you have to play Big Girls Don't Cry for your roommate so she can squish a spider
+ Sometimes social activities just don't sound so great.
+ Sometimes we have a lot of dishes and no detergent
+ Sometimes a trip to the Duck Pond with your stale bread is way too much fun
+ Sometimes you get photos of your man helping your little sister carve her pumpkin back home and it just melts your heart.
+ Sometimes you need to go try out pie shots at the new place down the street at 11pm
+ Sometimes you miss your crazy roommate while she's in Hawaii
+ Sometimes making plans for next year gets you super excited
+ Sometimes you realize this whole experience is exactly what you need

I really have some of the best roommates around.
And I really, really love my life right now.

ps. I never posted this... But I think it's still applicable... So here ya go!
Also, I am sort of giving up on high quality or decent photos. Probs ruining my "brand" but whatevsies.

Puppy Lovin'

On Friday night, my roommate Abby and I rented a puppy. Yes, rented a puppy.
For one whole hour, we got some serious play and snuggle time with this little hunk of love named Alfie. And we were so sad when he had to leave. We're seriously considering just keeping him forever.

Best $15 we ever spent.

Brown paper packages, tied up with string

Mail from home is my favourite thing!
My sweet Mama sent wonderfully cozy socks and
a heart handwarmer when I told her about the snow
And my boy sent the most wonderful letter ever written...
With the pigeon from Don't Let The Pigeon Drive the Bus!
(It's a long story, but maybe one day I'll tell it)
If that's not true love, I don't know what is.

I'm just feeling super happy and super blessed and super loved.

also: I'm thinking of a new series called "All The Surfaces in Tay's Apartment." Ya dig? ;)

Sometimes

You just really need to buy an insane amount of sugar with your roommates.
Luckily we have The Chocolate not too far away.
And the grocery store even closer for late night ice cream runs.

I'm so glad these people understand me.

My heart likes to smile

Sometimes my heart just gets so excited!
I'm an all or nothing kind of girl when it comes to emotions
which is a blessing and a curse.
Here are a couple of things that make me Oh So Happy as of late.

The photos above make me happy
the one on the left was taken by Kyle on our one year anniversary,
(see the rest here)
and the one on the right was taken on
The Great Bestfriend Roadtrip with Kirs last March.

General Conference makes me happy.
It is one of those things that never fails to answer
some of my questions and prayers.

Wonderful Roommates make me especially happy.
And I was definitely blessed with the best of the best :)
I would never put the six of us together, but we fit so well.
I'm glad this whole "being away from home" thing
is so much easier because of them.
